Forum Guidelines

SatAM was and is a television show for all ages, and that is why I believe the same should be true of this community forum.

1. Make your contributions worthwhile and mature.

2. Maintain a good attitude.

3. Be respectful.

I will not ban or warn you for trivial matters like double posting or posting in the wrong forum section, although the latter should not be a problem seeing as the board is fairly self-explanatory. The former can be used if it has been a reasonable amount of time since your last post and you have something new to add that is on a slightly different note. Otherwise, the edit button is usually best.

I will ban you for being abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, disrespectful, excessively sarcastic, unobjective, overly argumentative, otherwise inappropriate, or spamming (other than letting us know about your Sonic-related web site). Two warnings and you're gone.

Pornography and/or so-called “mature/adult” material will not be tolerated in here, nor will links to such content.

Explicit/obscene language is unnecessary. Trust me when I say you can get your point across just as effectively (and much more civilly) without it. Just be sensible in this regard. There is a language censor on some words. Please do not bypass it-- we'll all know what you mean, anyway.

This should go without saying, but please use decipherable spelling and grammar. Rightfully or not, intelligence is measured by writing skill on the Internet.

If you are embedding an image in a post, please keep the image under 600 pixels wide so it will fit properly in the allotted space. If it's larger, link to the image using a URL. Also, please keep signatures down to a reasonable size.

If you have any questions, just ask! Before starting a new topic, however, you may want to take a look at the FAQ section to see if your question has already been answered.

Feel more than free to discuss topics other than SatAM (general Sonic discussion or otherwise), just make sure that you post under the correct forum.

I'm not afraid to pin the blame where it is deserved. If you are inciting others, it is only reasonable that they will try and defend themselves against your attacks. If you started it, 99.9% of the time you also deserve the blame.

If these guidelines seem at all uptight or puritanical to you, feel free to stay far, far away from this forum. You're not needed here. We are trying to build an open, friendly community of respectful, thinking people, and your presence would obviously be a detrimental factor in the pursuit of that goal. Oh, and on your way out, I seriously suggest that you reevaluate your views on what constitutes “uptight” and “puritanical.”

And remember: let's try to keep things positive, folks. Don't get bogged down in trivial matters, and show your fellow forum members due respect-- even when you disagree. Don't come in here with a superiority complex. After all, this is Sonic we're talking about. Leave your negativity and cynicism at the door, and just come ready to have a good time and enjoy each other's company.
