Adult Section?

While I don't really like the idea of it on a family friendly board such as this, it seems to me that there is this much conflict over it then an Adult Section is hardly worth it.

This site was created with the general Sonic fandom in mind. The fans who were able to be mature about things but at the same time anyone could join.

There are many other Sonic websites out there that have adult rated sections to post in in. Porpoise I am sure did not have an adult section in mind when creating this site. You all joined this site for a reason and due to the lack of an adult section, adult posting was not the reason.
I think adding an adult section would be a bad idea, you may not all agree on this but people like me could do without seeing their childhood memories become more adult themed on this forum.

i think we should all be allowed to view any part of SMS and it would not be fair to some members say..11 or 13 years old to not be allowed.

as a web site we should all be allowed to share the same privileges unless we brake some rule.


in other cases SMS is for satam fans and not for adult only subjects.

People have perverted minds. I think it's a bad idea. Sonic IS a KIDS thing. It was a GOOD kids thing that had a broad appeal, so that's why older people like it. For example, the Toy Story Trilogy (I love calling it that, it makes it sound epic) is certainly a thing aimed at kids, but its designed so adults can enjoy it too. That's why there were TONS of adults, without children, who went to see Toy Story 3. It's not Adult at all, it just has a broad appeal.

I have to point out that there is no matter of "fairness" when it comes to a legal matter. To allow minors to view adult content would be grounds for a lawsuit had anyone found out. So... I'm pretty positive IF adult content were allowed on SMS, those under 18 wouldn't have been allowed to look. If we want to talk about fairness, wouldn't it be unfair to those who the consequences would fall to? Like not just the staff, but maybe even the rest of the site too, if it went to the point of it being shut down even. I don't personally know the ramifications of violating CIPA as I haven't researched it, but I don't think allowing minors to view adult content on the site (if it's ever added) is a risk the staff would be willing to gamble with. Just saying.

As for me, I'm not for or against having an adult section. It wouldn't bother me if one was added, but it doesn't matter to me because I don't frequent those sections of forums for lack of interest. xD

It would be illegal to have adult content on this site anyway. Alot of members here are under the age of majority. If adult content was to be hosted on this site then the host would be breaking the law. Especially because it would break a current COPPA agreement that I know at least one member is signed under.

Just go somewhere else for your adult content.
