    OK..i know its been a long time since i talked about my fan game but i have demo 1 done..

    its not the best compared to supersonic7 and psi's fan game but my fan game introduces some thing called...

    X fusion power





    basically only sally is playable..

    report any bugs or glitches to me please.

    and before any one accuses me...

    YES i did use a photo of sally from denven art.


    and i did give the creator of the photo credit (you see a sign telling who made it when the photo shows up in the game)

    This kind of stuff doesn't belong in this section of the forum, post this in the "Fan Content" section. It's not hard to know what belongs in which section. Just read !

    I can't figure out how to jump, so I keep falling in the first pit. :nervous: Other than that(and some spelling), it seems just fine. I'll be happy to post further impressions if I can get past the first screen.

    you can do a bounce by holding down the jump button!!

    and yes id appreciate a comment!


    it was not made with is a sonic engine..

    in stead i used a Contra engine!

    Whoa, that was quick. I also like the art, animation and the use of one of Sally's lines from SatAM. Alright, thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

    besides egg city zone there will be..


    green grove zone.

    robotropolis zone (AKA gene gadget)

    oil plant zone.

    Death egg zone

    doomsday zone (super sally??)

    and ??????? zone

    each char has different levels and game play!.

    also i will get deeper into X fusion power.

    spread the word that my fan game demo 1 is released (i thought it would never get noticed here)

    Well, I played it all the way through. I like how you used dialogue in the demo. I can see the Contra influence in how Sally moves and jumps. Actually, I was thinking that Contra would lend really well to a SatAM game. Seeing it in action, confirms that I was right. Though I do think adding abilities with X fusion power would help. So far, you kind of just walk from left to right, and the one boss(Robotnik), is defeated by jumping into him. Since Contra involves shooting enemies, maybe make her basic ability a projectile attack, though a melee attack system sounds more practical if you plan on making all the FF playable. Later on, maybe she can learn new abilities, or find temporary powerups along the way.

    Maybe give her some kind of damage system, where she can take a certain number of hits before dying. Also, maybe change the boss fight a little bit to accommodate these changes, possibly so that she can't touch him without sustaining damage. Adding some enemies to the stages might make it more exciting. Of course, it's an early beta, so all of this can be forgiven.

    The way I see it, there are at least two ways you can go with this project. A) You can make it an action based sidescroller, in which case, you can make heavier use of the Contra engine for Sally's game at least. Have you heard of Probotector, the European version of Contra? I've never played that version of Contra, but it should contain some good robot sprites that you can work with, and maybe alter to resemble SatAM type enemies. A projectile attack system with temporary powerups, and maybe limited lives would likely work well with this system. The only downside is if you want to make each character play differently, particularly if you want to play to the strengths of Sonic's character, a projectile attack system may not be as practical.

    B) You can make it puzzle based with some action mixed in. Have a system where the characters will have to use their special abilities to get from one end of the stage to the other. Maybe even have stages with secrets hidden in them, that require different abilities, maybe even abilities that are learned later. If you want to give Sally different X power abilities, this may be a good way to go. Contra usually involves moving from left to right, or from the bottom to the top, so I'm not sure how a Contra engine would work with a game like this.

    Personally, as someone who doesn't know the first thing about hacks, and/or whether or not you'd be tied to one engine, there's not a whole lot I can say, other than that you seem to have a good start. Where you go from there depends entirely on your vision, and which direction you want to take things in. There could be more directions you can take things too, and those were just a couple ideas I could think of off the top of my head. It's your game, so go ahead and do what you want to do with it.     my fear is if i use a contra engine for sally to much the whole game may become 'satam contra' 'pr 'satamra'

    any ways do you know a good sonic engine for sonic,tails etc?

    Lol, yeah, I can see why you don't want to turn it into pure Contra. At one point I imagined the classic Contra game, but starring Sally and Bunnie, where Sally had a gun, and Bunnie used her robot arm, but that was a concept I scrapped in my mind. :lol: As for an engine that can work for the other characters, this isn't really my area of expertise. But E-122 seems to know a lot about this stuff. Why don't you ask him?

    each char will have a different game play.

    wail antoan will be just a 'run and gun' (no jumping) style game play.

    bunnie will go threw dungeons and etc looking for treasure (sonic adventure 2 knuckles take off) (this part is still to be considered as bunnie may do something else).

    Sorry to be "that girl/guy" you may have given credit to the original artist BUT did you ask the artists permission to feature the photo in your game?

    Whilst that saying has been time tested I think it would be very appropriate to ask the artists permission still. The artist might take great offense to having his/her work used without permission. Artists tend to get very touchy on that subject.

    yea...demo 2 i will probably remove it and re do it via sprite art or whatever..

    if that's what is right the i will do what is best to respect the authors wishes...

    i just thought the photo was cool and credit was all thinking the photo maker would never play the game.

    but if that's what is best then i will do it.
